It is really
difficult being The TotalMan. The man who has everything going for him at the
same time, with no lack or shortfall in any - His Ministry, Marriage,
Education, Business, Health and his Social Impact status. To tell you the truth, it
is really hard to be such a man.
The concept
of the TotalMan brings to mind the article - Death in the POT. In its synopsis,
there is an ultimate and divine call on a man and in his bid to carry it all
on, some parts of his life are affected negatively. Whereas some have their
lack in education, others have had theirs in business, others in marriage and
others in their health and social credibility and so on. It is not too faraway to see a preacher's kid misbehaving.
In short, one cannot
be that TotalMan, at least in concept. In other words, on paper, it is
impossible to achieve total success in all areas of life, with facts from
history.
At this
point where I, myself, am going through almost same challenging times with having
to blend just about five out of the six areas, it is very easy to accept and
agree with this perception and never argue a defense case out. It is very easy
…
Easy? Yes Easy…and
that’s what it is. Easy to say no one can be a real TotalMan.
But who says we
want things easy? Human beings have never wanted things easy. The easy way is
contentment.
That’s not our natural make-up. No one really wants to be in the
same place year after year without any form of promotion or development in his
or her life.
In my short time lived and read I have come to believe nothing good
really comes easy. Like my beautiful and intelligent wife, it was not easy to
find her in the first place; like that business producing the best of profits,
it was never easy to even venture starting it; like that doctorate degree, it
was not easy acquiring it, like that good health condition, it was not easy
maintaining it; like that renowned International Christian ministry (WWC), it
was not easy dreaming its establishment, like that social service delivery, it
was not easy committing to.
So the last time
‘easy’ was used for a thing, it meant failure and unrealization or a cut short of
dreams and expectancy.
God never said it was going to be easy; but he meant all
throughout His word that it was going to be worth it.
The Word of
God has always been around to give strength to the weak and feeble; purpose to the
wanderer and the unrest, and to the dreamer and the Desiring, hope and
reward for labour.
His word was explicitly in
Phillipians 4:13, that all things are possible through the strengthening of
Christ. Anything Christ-centered succeeds.
Therefore, I can be that TotalMan,
having all the areas and angles surrounding my life covered and flourish through Christ.
And what
this means is that my Ministry, Marriage (Relationship), Education, Business,
Social Impact and Health should have their source of sustenance in Christ and He
being the Pillar in the Centre of all Success and Failure, will reward WORK and Deligence. And He will turn my life in that of Joy,
Peace, Satisfaction and Success i have always wanted.
To you, same...
The Concept
Catches on…
